SCOPE
The scope of the environmental management system applies to the business activities related to the planning, manufacture, inspection and delivery of automotive iron and aluminum components at the J.G. Kern Enterprises, Inc. facility in Sterling Heights, MI. This EMS is designed to cover the products and services of J.G. Kern, including those that are outsourced, that have an environmental impact and can be controlled or influenced by the organization.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
J.G. Kern Enterprises is committed to the protection of the environment, fulfillment of our compliance obligations and continual improvement of our environmental management system (EMS) to enhance environmental performance. Top Management will consider the environmental issues concerning the organization and those of interested parties in all business strategies and initiatives. We will therefore, manage our processes, our materials and our people in order to reduce the environmental impacts associated with our work.
To minimize environmental impacts concerning our activities, products and services we shall:
* Prevent pollution, reduce waste and minimize the consumption of resources
* Determine risks and opportunities related to the environmental aspects
* Create a working atmosphere of environmental awareness
* Encourage environmental protection among suppliers and subcontractors
* Influence the consideration of lifecycle impacts of our products with our suppliers and customers
